50th Anniversary Re-cap
Jul 15, 2012, 11:14 pm
The 50th Anniversary celebration of Alexander Park Minor Sports Association took place on Saturday, June 16th.We had spectactular weather and a great turn out of former players and Coaches.
We were honoured to have Baseball Hall of Fame Pitcher Fergie Jenkins, Mayor Bob Bratina, MP David Sweet and Ward One Councillor Brian McHattie attend our event. Fergie helped us in a special re-naming ceremony of our four baseball diamonds in honor of Joe Cheeseman, Roy Grover, Peter Nolan and Aaron Lynes. Fergie signed autographs and was included in all the team pictures. What a great surprise to learn that David Sweet played Baseball at Alexander Park as a kid. Thank you to all these fine gentlemen for their time.
We had great entertainment from the band "Rushin Kerfew, soloist Joceyln Fairman and Magician Owen Anderson. Thank you to The Grill Team from Pillers Meats for serving up their new product, "Ball Park Franks" Thank you to the Grover family for organizing the slide show of old photos. This will be put on line on our Facebook page and here on our website.
The Executive would like to thank the City of Hamilton who have been great supporters of this event since its’ inception. We appreciate all the time and effort put forth by the City in assisting us and making the Park looks fanatastic.
This was truly a memorable day and we thank all the advertisors, suppliers and park supporters in making the day an overwhelming success
Helmets & Baseball Bags
Mar 27, 2011, 11:40 pm
For the 2015 season, the Executive is encouraging parents to purchase a baseball helmet for their child. Many of the Helmets the Association has provided have been roughly used and are wearing out faster than they should. By purchasing your own helmet, this would avoid any potential hygene issues as well. The Association will still have helmets available to players who may have forgotten theirs or who chose not to purchase one.
Helmets are available for sale in the Clubhouse for $22 each
Consider purchasing a baseball bag for your future baseball superstar. These bags can hold several bats and balls. It protects your own personal equipment and makes transporting to and from the field a breeze. We have two sizes available. Our Senior Bag is a $45 retail value in the sports stores. We are selling them for $25. Get them while they last!...The Price is Right!
Junior Baseball Bags are $20 and Senior Bags are $25

Yogi Berra's second claim to fame is for being one of the most quoted figures in the sports world. He is credited with coining the deceptively simplistic observation, "It ain't over till it's over." But he's also known for his flubs. Here is a collection of the most notorious of these.
Here is this week's Quote
"Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't come to yours".
